Xero works with 800+ Apps and Xero Marketplace reveals a gamut of Add-ons, or tools, to enhance the efficiency of your bookkeeping by integrating other software developed for specific purposes. These Apps vary widely such as help with Bills and Expenses, Debtor tracking, eCommerce, Stock control, Point of Sale, Reporting, Time Tracking etc. The diversity is immense and so at Bookkeeping Synergy we have looked at our greatest need for efficiency, trialed a few of the Apps and made our choice on which add-ons we will use. Advertises as ‘Your New Favourite Mileage App’ – and it is! Complete your mileage expenses anywhere using the web app or phone app. It automatically calculates the VAT on your mileage expenses and then at the click of a button sends these claims directly to Xero. This app is only available in the UK and costs less than a cup of coffee per month. Managing your business mileage is less stressful with Tripcatcher.
Is the global leader in recurring bank-to-bank payments such as Direct Debit. This software enables business owners to automatically collect pre-authorised payments straight from the customer’s/client’s bank account whenever the Xero invoice is due. Open Banking has been explained in the MoneySavingExpert website like this: It is a series of reforms on how banks deal with your financial information instigated by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). It means that all UK regulated banks are required to allow you to share your financial data such as your spending habits, regular payments and companies you use (banks!) with authorized providers offering budgeting apps, or other banks – but only as long as you give your permission. The reason behind these changes is that they will bring more competition and innovation to financial services which will lead to better products with greater choice, to help you manage your money. The rules only apply to accounts which can be accessed online.
However……. This is a choice. You do not have to share your data if you don’t want to. Each provider will ask for consent when you sign in and will send the request to your bank.
Xero Bank Feeds: To have Bank Feeds come through to a Xero account, permission will be sought by Xero and will need to be given. Alternatively, a business owner can download a csv file and manually import this.
